Remodeling your kitchen gives you the opportunity to change the entire space or revamp what you already have. Make sure you know what the best items to add to your remodel are to increase the value of your home and to get the best result.
Under Cabinet Lighting
If your kitchen lacks windows or natural light adding under cabinet lighting can brighten up your kitchen space. This provides helpful light for prepping, cooking and cleaning. It can be used as a night light for the midnight snackers. Or just to create accent lighting. Not all under cabinet is the same, you have multiple options to choose from such as, the type of lightbulb, the shape, and power source.
Drawers VS Shelving
Something to consider if you were planning on replacing your cabinetry, and if you weren’t originally you should now. Storage space in a kitchen is key. Pots, pans, plates, cups. utensils, cooking supplies, and food all need a place to be kept. Most people put the rarely used items on the back of the shelf and work their way forward, but when you do need that item all the way in the back it requires taking everything out to get it. By adding drawers to your cabinets it adds convenience to storage. Open the drawer and all of your stuff is in sight. Who wouldn’t add drawers to their kitchen remodel.
Next-Gen Cook Tops
If you are looking to replace your stove or add a cook top to your island, next-gen cooktops are the way to go. They can be pricey to purchase, but the return value is huge. On top of adding value to your home, they are the most energy efficient which means lower utility bills. The temperature control is much better on a cook top vs a regular stove. The best part it heats up and cooks food faster! Cleaning is easy too, all you need is a damp cloth. The biggest downfall is they work most efficiently with certain types of cookware and because they are run on electricity they will not work in the case of a power outage. With proper maintenance a next-gen cook top is a great investment.
Just an extra design tip. Be sure to plan for how all cabinets, drawers and appliances open to avoid opening something right into another and risk damage of breaking. Good luck with your kitchen remodeling project!
